The First Year College acknowledges student commitment to serving their communities through the Deryle Daniels Memorial Scholarship, formerly known as the First Year College Community Scholarship. FYC supports and encourages the continued engagement of service within the University community.
Annually, three $1000-scholarships are awarded to incoming, First Year College students who demonstrate outstanding and effective leadership in service-related activities. Past recipients have shown that they have made significant impact in their local, national, and global communities.
All First Year College students that apply for admission by the November 1 application deadline are eligible to apply for the Deryle Daniels Memorial Scholarship.
Scholarship Award Cycle:

|February 15||Deadline to submit online application|
|February 16-20||Scholarship Committee meets to review applications and make award decisions|
|March 2||Award receipients and denied applicants are notified of the committee's decision|
|March 15||Scholarship payments are turned over to the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships to be applied to recipients' accounts|
